Natural Shades
A natural shade line built to the AERIS engineering standard. Not finished yet, and we’re not going to pretend otherwise.
The product
Natural shades are one of the highest-demand categories in custom window treatments. Woven woods, grasses, and natural fibers sell on feel and visual warmth in a way no synthetic product can replicate. The category has always been easy to love and hard to perfect. Hardware decisions, valance returns, liner choices, and sample range are where most natural shade lines quietly fall short.
Elements is our entry into the category, built with the same engineering discipline we put into Retreat and Serenity. What dealers carry today is a real, sellable product with good mechanisms, good fabrics, and the Quantum motor option already integrated. What we’re building toward is a line without the compromises the category has lived with for decades.
We’re going to show you both. Here’s what Elements delivers today, and here’s exactly what’s in active development.
What’s working today
Woven woods, grasses, and natural fibers across a first sample book. Materials were selected for visual richness and for reliable performance once they’re installed. We don’t offer fabrics that don’t hold their shape.
The lifting system, hardware, and operation are all dialed in. Installers who’ve worked on legacy natural shade brands will notice the difference on the first install.
Elements uses the same Quantum motor we built into Retreat and Serenity. Precision-molded nylon casing, silicone vibration cover, low decibel rating. Same motor, same engineering standard, across the line.
Privacy and blackout liner configurations are available across the line. Liner colors are currently being expanded. See Active Development below.
Elements runs on the same unified fabric specifications and the same no-deductions policy as every other AERIS product. Every fabric in the Elements sample book runs on the same spec. We build to your ordered size. No exceptions, no manufacturer-adjusted dimensions.
“If a customer is complaining about it, it is an engineering problem.”
The AERIS Engineering Standard
Active development
Most brands release a line and move on. We treat every product in our line as ongoing engineering. Elements is the product with the most active engineering happening right now, because the category has long-standing problems that nobody has fully solved. Here’s what’s in development, and why it matters.
The independent dealer community has been vocal about this for years. Clean, finished valance returns on natural shades have been an unsolved problem across every major brand in the category. The industry has accepted ugly returns as inherent to the product. We do not accept that.
Our current development work is on a valance return system that closes cleanly, looks finished from every angle, and installs without compromise. The current valance system works well and ships on every order today. The redesign is in active test, with multiple iterations being evaluated on real installs. When it’s ready to ship, it will be the only natural shade in the independent dealer channel with a return solution worth selling.
Current liner options cover the core configurations. We’re expanding the liner color range to match how the market is actually buying. Warmer neutrals, richer tones, and options that coordinate with the natural material palettes rather than contrasting with them. This update arrives with the second sample book.
The current Elements line launches with one sample book. A second book is in development, expanding the material range with new weaves, textures, and natural fiber combinations. A broader sample range means Elements fits more rooms, more design directions, and more customers in a single appointment.
If you’re living with a natural shade problem that isn’t on this list, we want to hear about it. That’s how this works.
Why now
Dealers who integrate Elements into their sales process now will be the most prepared when the valance redesign and expanded sample range land. You’ll know the product, the install, and the customer conversation before most of the market has seen the updated line.
You’ll also be in the group of dealers whose feedback shapes what ships next. Elements is still in active development, which means your input on what you’re seeing in the field has real weight. Dealers on the line today are part of how the line evolves.
